About Me

My name is Julie Bylsma and I have been an educator for 18 years.

As a teacher at both the elementary and high school levels, I have always loved teaching, building relationships and helping students navigate their way through both their academic and personal lives.

In my personal life, music has always been my biggest passion, and I have always been intrigued by the way that children learn so much more when music is incorporated into their learning.

So it was a no-brainer when I came to the decision to combine my two biggest joys - music and teaching - and open my music studio!

Music for Young Children Group Music Lessons:

- Students are taught in small groups (3-6 students)

- Parents are present for lessons and act as music helpers

- Focus on keyboard skills, rhythm activities, theory, listening skills, songs and movement

I have seen through personal experience how beneficial the MYC group lessons are for children and their families. They provide a fun and unique way to learn theory, rhythm and piano skills, and they teach students so many other skills as well, such as listening and social skills, and how to work as part of a team. The work ethic that is instilled in young children is also worth noting, as practice and perseverance becomes incorporated into their daily routine.

I believe that a child’s musical journey should not only be educational, but also an exciting and joy-filled experience, and Music for Young Children fulfills both of these roles. To learn more about Music for Young Children, click here.
